The film Anonymous tells the complex story of the CCP Special Branch maneuvering in Shanghai between Chongqing, the Wang Jingwei regime, and Japanese intelligence agencies, bringing audiences back to a neglected page in the historical narrative of the War of Resistance. With the global anti-fascist process underway, various factions in the three cities of Chongqing, Nanjing, and Shanghai were actively or indirectly seeking dialogue around 1944, and these signals and codes influenced the future and present of China and even East Asia. Why did both Chiang Kai-shek and the Japanese military have a strong demand for peace negotiations? What "work" did the Japanese side actually do? Were the historical figures involved in this dialogue merely tools or butterflies dancing among flowers? Please listen to Teacher Sha Qingqing's excellent sharing in this episode.
