"The 13 Lords of the Shogun" features Hōjō Yoshitoki, the second regent of the Kamakura Shogunate, as its protagonist, focusing on the evolution from the first Kamakura regime represented by Minamoto no Yoritomo to the Hōjō family's seizure of power, recreating the brutal political struggles of the Kamakura Shogunate era.
