Leftover Talk · show cover

South of the Ginkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto, along the canal drawn from Lake Biwa, there is a quiet and elegant tree-lined path. Nishida Kitaro, a philosopher at Kyoto University, often walked here, and the path became famous, known to the world as the "Philosopher's Path." In this episode, we invited Professor Xu Yingjin from the School of Philosophy at Fudan University to engage in a unique (and frequently controversial) discussion on topics such as the relationship between "Kyoto School philosophers" and Japan's wars of aggression, the influence of Continental phenomenology on Japan, and how Japanese philosophy can go global. Starting May 30, 2024, "Leftover Talk" will officially launch its "Annual Membership Program."
