There must be some corner in the world where someone can fully understand what we want to express, and Haruki Murakami is that person. On April 1, 1978, 29-year-old Haruki Murakami was watching a game of his beloved baseball team, the Yakult Swallows, at the Meiji Shrine. In the bottom of the first inning, American foreign player Dave Hilton hit a double to left-center field. At that moment, Murakami suddenly thought: "I think I can write a novel." After that, he wrote his first novel, "Hear the Wind Sing" (also translated as "Listen to the Wind's Song"), thus beginning his path as a novelist and eventually becoming an iconic figure in Japanese culture.
