But truck drivers in reality are not so relaxed. For them, a sudden brake may mean more fuel consumption, and a temporary stop for the restroom may disrupt the pre-planned rest rhythm. To ensure a truckload of cold-chain chicken arrives on schedule, a driver might choose to drive through the night, going three days without a full night's sleep.

玩过《欧洲卡车模拟》的人，大概都懂那种奇怪的放松感：夜路、广播、仪表盘、远处慢慢亮起来的城市灯火，仿佛在游戏里开车送货本身就是一种低成本赛博旅行。但现实里的货车司机可没有这么松弛。对他们来说，一脚突然的刹车可能意味着更多油耗，一次临时上厕所可能就会打乱事先规划好的休息节奏。为了一车冷链鸡肉的能赶上时刻表的安排，可能就会让司机选择连夜赶路，三天睡不上一个整觉。
