The renowned New Cultural History scholar Robert Darnton has had new books introduced to China. Professor Darnton has a wide range of interests and a prolific body of work, and the topics that can be developed around his works are rich and diverse, always fresh to discuss. In this episode, the two hosts, Sha Qingqing and Jiang Yuan, will discuss Darnton's New Cultural History research, as well as various gossip about the French Old Regime, centered on the two translated works newly introduced to China in the past two years: 'The Book World of the Eve of the French Revolution' and 'Poetry and the Police.'
